Meet the Steerco
Chris Barrow (He/Him/His) has worked within the Financial Services industry in the City of London for over twenty years, specializing in Client Servicing and Client Onboarding for various Institutional Investment Managers, and currently works at an independent Investment Management and Strategic Advisory firm . Over the last years he has extended his focus to activities supporting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) measures around LGBT+ and Ethnic Minority workstreams.
Chris is currently serving as his London office Lead for their LGBT+ Network, having earlier served at his previous employer as the Chair of their LGBT+ (Pride & Allies) Network for a number of years. He also sits on the Racial Equity Workstream of InterInvest.
He is passionate on providing insight from his personal and lived experiences, creating awareness and promoting activities that highlight the need for equality and inclusion for LGBT+ and Ethnic Minority talent throughout the industry.
Deon Pillay is a founding member and Co-Chair of InterInvest, and Head of Fund Reporting and Regulatory change at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM). Deon has 15 years’ experience in the industry. Prior to LGIM he held various client-focused roles at Barclays Private Wealth. Deon chairs LGIM’s LGBT+ Allies network, and is an LGBT Great role model and the winner of their inaugural award for driving LGBT inclusion in the industry. Originally from South Africa, Deon holds an Electronics Engineering qualification form FET South Africa. He is a mentor, life coach and NLP practitioner, and a keen foodie and food blogger
Lydia Puricelli – Anti-racist activist, speaker, writer, trainer, marketing professional, qualified executive coach and trainee psychotherapist. For more than 20 years I’ve worked in predominantly white marketing departments and creative agencies across global organisations. I combine this lived work experience with Anti-racist, Justice, Diversity Equity & Inclusion activism plus coaching qualifications to bring about change. I focus on the unique challenges Black & People of Colour as well as other marginalised groups face with diversity, equality, equity, and inclusion in the corporate world. How this affects their ability to perform in their roles and the impact on their mental health and wellbeing.
Paul Scaping, Public Policy Specialist, The Investment Association
Paul Scaping is a Public Policy Specialist at the Investment Association. He leads the IA’s policy development and advocacy work on climate change, nature and the transition to net zero. In this role he is responsible for the IA Net Zero Forum which seeks to enable peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and provide insight into how investment managers can approach the transition to net zero. He is also responsible for the IA’s advocacy work on climate change and biodiversity in the wider economy. Paul has been at the IA for seven years and was previously interim Head of Government Affairs before focusing on the IA’s engagement at Cop26. He previously worked in government relations consultancy after starting his career as a parliamentary researcher in the House of Commons.
Tristan Davis is a Senior Business Analyst within Business Management at Capital Group, the world’s largest active investor. He is a global co-lead for ‘CG Pride’, Capital Group’s community for LGBTQ+ associates and allies, and sits on the Capital Group Europe & Asia Client Group Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee. He is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the asset management industry and works to create an informed, supportive and diverse environment where people feel valued and psychologically safe. He oversees the work of the CG Pride community across Capital Group’s global offices, with a particular focus on Europe & Asia, using locally-sensitive approaches to make a meaningful impact in each office.
